Timeline: Building the Titanic

-1907: Jopesph Bruce Ismay meet during dinner to discuss a new way to get better business and come up with the Titanic and its two sister ships, the Olympic and Britannic.
-March 31, 1909: Construction begins on the Titanic. They start with the keel of the ship.
-April 1910: The hull and the keel of the Titanic are complete.
-November 1910: Finished adding hull plates.
-March 1912: The fitting out of the Titanic is complete.
-March 20, 1912: The Titanic's original sailing date. It was changed because the workers of the Titanic had had to stop their work on the Titanic to go help work on the Olympic because it had a construction incident. Could this have been a warning?
-April 2, 1912: Titanic is taken out on her first sea-trials. The tugboats pulled the Titanic with its crew out into the water and the captain then started the engines and tested left turns, right turns, full circles, stopping, and traveling at different speeds. 100,000 onlookers come to watch the largest ship in the world sail for the first time.
 -April 10, 1912- The Titanic sets sail in Southampton, England.
