Present Shipbuilding Guidelines
- Bulkheads should connect to the lower deck to allow more time to fill up and for the water to be trapped below the decks so that they will not flood.
- The lower deck should be watertight so that once the safety compartments are filled, they can not get past the lower deck.
- The bulkheads should be very thick.
- The bulkheads should start at the front of the ship and go all the way to the back of the ship so that the lower parts of the ship fill first.
- There must be a "bulkhead committee" to watch over the building of the bulkheads, including using the technology available today.
- The bulkheads should be extended atleast thirty feet above the water line so that the water has a lot of room to fill.
