Present Ship Safety Rules
- Ship must have more than enough lifeboats for the amount of passengers and crew members on board.
- The number of lifeboats required onboard a ship are determined by the number of passengers on board.
- Ship must hold various lifeboat drills with the crew (to learn how to release the lifeboats) and the passengers (to learn how to wait patiently and then board the lifeboats) together.
- If the ship is crossing the Atlantic Ocean during winter or spring months it must travel farther south to avoid ice waters.
- The ship's radios/ wireless sets must be monitored and kept on twenty-four hours a day seven days a week (at all times).
- There must always be wireless operator on duty. Always. That means that a ship requires atleast two wireless operators so that they can alternate back and forth.
- The ships wireless offices should to the bridge (where they sail from) for quick communication.
- The radios/ wireless sets should have an extra power source so that if the engines or power shuts off, the radio can still be used.
