First Class Children
- There were five first class children aboard the Titanic.
- Some of the things that the first class children could do on the Titanic were:
+ Swim in the salt water pool (called a Turkish smimming bath back then because it was so small) that could only be
accessed by first class passengers. By paying one dollar, the kids could go swimming or bathe themselves in the Turkish
swimming bath. Adults could also go into the electric bath (a lot like a tanning bed).

+ Play on a rowing machine located in the gym. A rowing machine is a piece of fitness equipment that you sit on and pull
yourself back and forth across the rails by pulling, or "rowing", the two bars held infront of you (almost like rowing a boat).
The first class children were only allowed in the gym from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

+ Another thing kids could do in the gym was play on the mechanical horse in the back of the gym. It was just like a rocking
horse, but bigger and taller. They could use this, the rowing machine, and the mechanical camel located in the gym.

+ Kids could also play with toys such as balls, dolls, jacob's ladders, toy soldiers, and noah's arks (the only toy allowed to be
played with on sundays because of its religious meaning).
